I'm a Springsteen fan, but I often find myself grabbed by Mr. Bittan's piano playing and what it adds to many of Springsteen's most memorable recordings, enough so that I wanted to hear what "The Professor" does by his own self. Two particular favorites on this CD are "La Giostra (The Carousel)", and "Riders in the Night". Fellow E Street fans will find a number of familiar melodies and themes in Mr. Bittan's compositions recorded on this CD, as well as novel melodies which are equally memorable and enjoyable. I've seen this CD classified as "Easy Listening" (a label which may put some fans off), however even if this is true, it is a very good representative for that genre. Roy Bittan is one of the artists who has inspired me to try to learn to play piano and I often turn to his playing for inspiration. Would LOVE it if he would release some basic piano arrangements of the songs on this CD as sheet music!
