Eh ...they tried. But they failed. This is poorly written, acted, and directed. Too bad. The idea has promise...but the results are fairly dismal. I was hoping for another DOG SOLDIERS but no luck ..

Great performances, especially from Dorff and Tim Blake Nelson. One of the more enjoyable westerns I've seen in the last ten yrs.

I recall seeing this at the drive-in when I was five or six yrs old. Quite captivating to a youngster. As an adult, I still hold it fondly in my heart. Great pulp thrills. The director, Kevin Conner, is a master at delivering spectacle on a miniscule budget. I am surprised that folks who have a nostalgic fondness for old-school practical effects don't hold these Doug Maclure movies in higher regard. I love them all.

The craziest, most action packed monster movie ever made, taking the goofiest aspects of the entire Showa and Heisei era Godzilla films to a whole new level of outlandish pulp adventure. Tons of fun. Great for kids and those lucky adults who still have a sense of child-like wonder.

Certainly the best Japanese-made Godzilla film since the original. I found it emotionally stirring--at times heart-wrenching, with a literate script touching on themes of war, loss, reconciliation, resilience, compassion, collective and individual responsibility--not what most expect from a kaiju film. Bravo to writer/director Takashi Yamazaki for this elegant, beautiful monster movie. I hope Toho gives him a much bigger budget and allows him the same artistic freedom to make a sequel.

Absolutely first-rate. A classic.

I enjoyed this one more than most people seem to. It is silly and moves along fast enough. Gigan is one of the more interesting-looking monsters.
