I think this film does exactly what it sets out to do. It captures the atmosphere, the human cost on both sides, and the raw futility of a very difficult situation of epic proportions. There are an increasing amount of educational cinematic dramatisations of real events centred around key decision makers at the time, which can only serve as a reminder to all of us when the world seems to be in ever more turmoil.
