It was a good series except the ending, both the episodes version in the series or the movie. overall its animation for the time it was released is pretty good and the sound effects as well which make it a good action series with a intriguing story and the characters are all pretty interesting as well. It was going good with the puberty existential psychological crisis which made it very interesting but it got too repetitive over time which i can except, however, it got very confusing in its original ending with its philosophy and"the end of evangelion" movie in which i felt completely lost from beginning to end, the mental existential problems which seemed to be solved at the end of the series in ep 26 were for nothing in the movie (if u watch the series ending ep 26), the same problem just repeated its self yet again making all previous progress seem meaningless and hence a big let down, and if you go with only the series ending excluding the movie there will be a lot of unexplained things left hanging, if you watch the movie instead its just as bad although what was unsolved has been solved, its still very confusing philosophically, so overall as a series i guess if you like giant robots fighting along with a good mysterious story then u should watch it, but i will warn you, the ending is a big let down to such a good build up.
