A fantastic evening across the board: writing, direction, design and principally performance. Lily Allen was a revelation. Hers was a stunning accomplishment, needle-sharp in its instinct, intelligence, emotional range and weight and ingeniously nimble turns, leading to a credible, gut-wrenching finale. Deftly supported by her stage sibling Matthew Tennison and villain cop Paul Kaye. Really, I ask, what are our critics thinking about?
