Great story and entertainment. Nice implementation CGI and actual footage mix as well as new ideas. The excitement in the motorball games comes over refreshingly well. Reminds a bit of the early starwars movie excitement. Soiid acting by Waltz and Connelly and of course Rosa Salazar evenso she appears much in fusion camera technique. As with avatar, the story holds up also technologically. Example: with the city hanging from a space elevator and not just some unexplainable marvel-disney fantasy magic. There is some subtle humor evenso sometimes a bit dark. Things are nicely done with attention to details like the motor roller blades, the details visible on the computer screens, the city, the under water footage. It is definitely one of these movies one will want to see again.

Funny with some good surprises (like the `back to the future cameo`). Great collection of stars. Some appear only briefly like Reynolds who just appears briefly to get shot by Clinch (Liam Neeson). The couple Edward and Ruth (Giovanni Ribisi and Sarah Silverman) are hilarious. Also nice to see other stars like Charlise Theron and Amanda Seyfried.

Nice pyro, stunts, action and drums, beautiful cars, boys and girls and lots of drone scenery around Marseille. The plot is close to mission impossible. but there is also something for the brain: hacking computer screens with C++ and Assembler code and a board with Weibull distribution and stats formulas. This is quite a fun movie to unplug. I'm quite fond also of the actors. The young Eastwood (who was also great in the "longest ride") and Ana de Armas (who was great also in "Knifes out") fit well. Other familiar faces like Abkarian, whom we know from a Bond movie. Don't pay attention to critics who have trashed the movie. This is a typical action flic, where a movie critic can show off and elevate their status and prove their sophistication. But come on, life is serious enough. Have some fun.

This is a very sweet romantic fantasy drama story. One of the movies one can watch again and feel good afterwards. There are quite a few surprising twists if one does not look up the story line. Romantic fantasy stories have to have a happy ending and this one is not different. The slight super natural ending (the ghost of the former wife of Alex has been helping out) does not harm. There are other romantic fantasy films which do bring in some super natural twist like "Meet Joe Black" where things are told also nicely. Similarly than "Meet Joe Black", also "Safe Haven" is rather sweet maybe too sweet for some, but that is what one expects from the genre. One can just say "thanks haven" that the negative movie critics are not in charge of writing such stories. The movie is suitable for children with some caveats as there are some scary moments but not more than in a Harry Potter movie.

One of these gems which came out of the blue for me. I liked the movie very much. A surprise for me like "Waking Ed Devine" or "Amelie" or "A Fish called Wanda" which also surprised. I always liked in literature "coming of age" stories like "Sorrows of young Werther" (by Goethe) or "Beneath the Wheel" by Hesse or "Confusions of young Toerless" by Musil (I grew up in Switzerland of course exposed more to German literature). The "December Boys" story is based on the book of Michael Noonan, an Australian novelist and the film too is Australian. Strange to see that it was not a box office success. Except for Daniel Radcliff (Harry Potter) and Teresa Palmer (Pointbreak, the 2015 remake of the 1919 one), the actors were for me largely unknown and refreshing. The actors and especially the kids played well. The story is a bit bittersweet but not too much.

Maybe a bit too much on the kitsch or cartoon type side. A decent feel good kids movie however, full of cliches, moral value lessons and miracles. Diggity is an orphan kid in an English village who is also an angel who can do some magic. When Raymond from the US inherits a church in the town, things become a bit complicated. There is a treasure in the base of the church and Malcolm Slee, a grumpy villager who has looked for years to get his hands on the treasure. There is also Rachel from the local B and B, there is some drama, love and miracles. Well, and there is a happy ending, where everybody is nice and well off and also bad Malcom Slee has become a good guy. As the movie has some funny aspects and tells the story with a wink, I found some charm in it. It is definitely a nice and safe family movie to warm up a colder winter evening.

Anna Kendrick had been great already in "up in the air". A surprise here in this movie as I would not have predicted it this genre. At the start of this movie it first appeared that comedy would not work for Kendrick but it actually does very well and better and better as it progresses. Just a fun movie, good characters, the chemistry works and also suspense as it is hard to predict what happens next. Despite the many bloody scenes, it is still fun, similarly as Mr and Mr Smith or Dead Pool has made it part of comedy. It becomes a bit of a cartoon (already in Tom and Jerry for example, the violence does not feel as such). Good action scenes. Definitely a movie that one wants to see again.

The movie is a rather predictable romantic drama. You know the story when looking at the poster. But this predictability makes it a fun, safe and relaxed family movie. Story: two successful and affluent middle aged individuals with similar failed marriage stories meet on a wonderful island in the Caribbean and well, the rest is pretty clear. As usual there is a short anti-climax before the inevitable happy end. I like the movie first of all because the scenery is gorgeous: it was filmed on Nevis, one of the lesser Antilles in the West Indies. It is a nice display of what paradise could look like. The cast and script is good, better than on a typical Hallmark movie, which all use a similar recipe. But this is not a Hallmark movie and was definitely more sophisticated in details, like food, location, makeup and cloths and stage. Also a good choice of music. As for the actors: Malin Akerman plays a successful actress who is the wife of a film director who betrays her with a younger actress. Philip Winchester plays a successful chef whose wife had run away and left him with a young child. Was nice to see Connie Nielsen known from the Gladiator, where she had played Lucilla, the daughter of Marcus Aurelius. The fourth main character in the movie, William Nadylam was for me only known from the Fantastic Beasts: the crimes of Grindelwald movie.

Refreshingly funny and different. A nice movie in a time of anxiety. Pushes a bit of the envelope. Lauren Lapkus is fantastic.
