A brilliant and breathtaking production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's greatest musical. The direction and staging are daring and thrilling, the performances fearless and exciting. Caveat: the proceedings are marred repeatedly by the audience's mindless and insensitive cheering and applauding whenever one of the actors sings a passage in falsetto or with melisma—even in the middle of numbers.
