Animal : A movie full of goosebumps. A scene where Gitanjali (Played by Rashmika) explains the care and concern shown by Vijay (Played by Ranbir) erases the element of doubt about their loved relationship. The film is set out to be the highest grosser of the bollywood. A film should not be merely liked or disliked by the audience , but it should make them violently disagree and argue which is what Sandeep Vanga achieved big in Animal. The film startles the viewers many times with bare naked honesty backed by never before scenes. Ayn Rand said “ Art is not what it is , art is also what it could be “ and that’s what makes Sandeep truly a true artiste in the purest sense of the word. There are many scenes where director tried to induce the true character of protagonist in viewers minds. The villain's intro has to be the most original ever because he’s literally unveiled like a bride in a split screen effect. Sandeep is genius. This would certainly redefine what film making is all about. There are multiple smoking, obscene and out of the character sequences but those scenes augmented the movie better. My search for a brilliant director after RGV has come to an end with Sandeep filling his shoes with precision. Verdict : A true unconventional film which thrashed the traditions of film making. Sandeep Vanga is a true expressionist. Rating : 4/5 (one star less due to the fact that it is A rated). Raghunath

Adipurush : Nothing much to talk about. The much hyped movie fell flat in every aspect. It gave an experience of watching worthless movie after a long time. Prabhas is no NTR and Om Raut is no Ramanand Sagar. The portrayal of characters is horribly awful. An epic like Ramayana demands depth in dialogues which Adipurush lack from scene one. 5*2 headed portrayal of Ravan is horrible. Graphics generated wild animals dominated the movie which is the most distracting factor. Prabhas did well to an extent and the character of Hanuman was decent. Rest all simply forgettable. Verdict : Watch B&W NTR movie instead. Rating : 2/5.

'Jai Bhim' 'Education is the only weapon to eradicate social evils'. A great attempt to depict the pathetic condition of rural poor. They are deprived of basic human needs and they are not even aware of the heinous acts by tyrants. Inspired by the real life story of advocate Chandru whose hard fought efforts to bring justice to a tribal woman obstructed by many stronger hands. It depicts the importance of human life, dignity of human life, importance of education and above all the fundamental rights of human being in getting equal access to justice. Breathtaking performance by Suriya. He singlehandedly took the movie to a higher level. It needs a lot of guts to choose such a great and untouched subject. Verdict : A must watch for all the investigation and court scenes. Rating : 4.5/5

Manikarnika, a tale of a warrior who proved to be real man among people during sepoy mutiny. Its a well known axiom that it is avarice of selfish people which deprived India the much needed freedom in 19th century. 'Manikarnika' shown many shades of Rani Laxmibai. Being virtuoso in using war skills, she did itinerant preaching for complete freedom. When she senses the mercenary acts by people of her own realm, she used her commonsense and recluse herself waiting for the right opportunity to counter attack. I think Kangana used her surfeit of talent in portraying the role very well.

Did not like the movie at all. The plot was patchy without any proper sequence. Ranveer and Alia did a good job but in vain. The story and narration is not gripping and hence movie didn't catch the attention at any moment. There are bits and pieces of comedy but overall 'Not worth a watch'.

'Yatra' : a tale of rediscovery of messaiahs of masses - Late YSR Reddy. The chagrin he faced during the campaign due to the plights of people brings tears to the viewer. The reparation he did for the mistakes by previous governments is that he understood their problems by observing them personally rather than giving evocative speeches. He rescind his rivalry within the party. He did forswear his group politics to come out strong. When the then ruling party decided to go for election before the stipulated time, he stepped up and rescued troubled Congress party to handover a historic victory. The dirge by Penchal Das definitely make you cry. Positives : Mamooty's portrayal of the role. Keeping the focus intact till the end. No second track to keep the subject on track. Negatives 1. Mamooty's self dubbing which has got malayalam influence like 'Gnabagalu' instead of 'Gnapakalu'. 2. Did not showcase some interesting characters like CBN and Jagan. 3. Portraying YSR as rebel against Congress when he was believed to be a staunch loyalist to high command. Verdict : Super hit Rating : 4 out of 5.

' Its ok to be called an ordinary man'. 'Sanju' the biopic of the most controversial filmstar Sanjay Dutt. I just jumped out of skin on seeing a mesmerizing performance by Ranbir kapoor. He simply lived in the character. Rajkumar Hirani definitely fancied his chances with Sanju and once again it is proven a hit combination. The film clearly depicted the albatross carried by Sanjay Dutt in his entire life of being called a terrorist. Overall, worth a watch My rating : ****
