I felt there was a lot of history of the main character that was self-indulgent. And it seems that King wants to be a musician, and so has written a novel about being a musician. It was trite and boring. Definitely not one of his best. And the climax was less than even slightly believable. Sort of Frankenstein and his monster.

Yawn.... It seems like Mr Rothfuss gleaned passages from all of the greats. Reminds me of Harry Potter, Dickens and Tolkien all rolled into one, yet somehow lacking any energy. I will continue to read it, but I can't say that I'm really very interested.Told in first person, Kvothes ego is a little hard to take.

It was pretty average for Stephen King. Seems like he revisited some of his old characters and I didn't find it to be particularly frightening, or really even all of that interesting. As per usual King does make me visualize his characters and places in my head and that didn't change. But overall I felt that the book was just a bit boring.
