This book feels like 2 Neil Gaiman books, Neverwhere and (ironically) Stardust, meets Hey! Arnold. It's not a bad book. It's a quick read, but mainly because all of the story building/world development is very clipped. It feels, in the beginning, like it could be so much more but it never develops past that feeling into true greatness. Enjoy it for what it is but don't expect too much.
