SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!
So Im giving this 3 stars because Im a die hard fan and have easily watched the series 5 times over because I miss the characters after really investing myself into each one for different reasons throughout the years. With that being said I LOVED that they, for the most part, all were on screen except for Stiles and Kira (and Ethan although he was mentioned) which I was ok with as I knew this beforehand. The little moment they gave ( like a literal minute) to pay homage to stiles and the jeep was to mention his name 2 maybe 3 times and show the jeep like once being driven. So ok here is what I did not like. Idk this kinda felt like an regular extended episode that belonged to season 3B. An intro to Derek's son was ok but his story got more camera time then some of the main characters. In the absence of the other characters...i.e Stiles, Kira, and even Theo, I really wanted the movie to get into a little more of who they are now as adults given some of their new life changes. My other gripe is that Allison really got to showcase much of her hunter skills we know her to have. However it fell short for the others and I was looking forward to seeing them in action much more. Peter didnt even transform into full werewolf, neither Jackson as a Kanima, and Malia as a coyote. Lydia as a Banshee uses the power of her wailing once and her Frequency once. Derek's storyline was a little better then the others including Scott (as he really didn't have much of a good storyline either as much). Scott and Malia have an awkward moment as if after they had broken up it was the first time seeing eachother, that was then never adressed again. Malia could have also done more. They never show how close Liam and Mason were. Sheriff Stilinski was shown enough I guess but I needed more than one scene with Melissa, she had a couple of lines is all. Another very weird thing I did not like whatsoever was that when the nemeton was mentioned none of them remembered what it was or where it was located. Ultimately Derek sacrificing himself was a sad moment for sure. So for a 2 hr running time, I feel the movie failed to fully bring what I know they could have brought to the fans that have been waiting so very long for this and the promotion for this was huge so I think many were expecting much more! This is my opinion only however. 🤷🏽♂️
