France has exceptional cinematography with movies like this and many others i have seen I believe they are on their way of getting the respect they finally deserve, some of their films are much better than Hollywood’s, This film paints a dark image of a child who endures abuse by the hands of his own father and brother, he bonds a beautiful friendship with dogs, who accept him as he accepts those and he lives to take care of the strays that others do not want i do not want spoil it much for those who haven’t seen the film but this is treat for movie lovers and dog lovers, i would rate it 3/5 I wouldn’t say its oscar worthy since the film is similar to the Joker and i believe the theme has been taken from that, also at times the story falls flat but it picks up, but it should get some respect
