Just finished the book which honestly I decided to read based only on the reviews about it. Therefore my expectations were really high.
The book is a page-turner and it kept me hooked indeed. But for me, it takes more than just that for a book to be a good one.
Here's what I would point out:
1. Style of writing: simplistic and repetitive.
2. Development of characters: poorly made, shallow, lacking sophistication and closure. That made it hard for me to truly connect or care for any of them.
3. Storyline becomes predictable at many points.
4. Very few quotable lines.
Overall, I would love that instead of bringing so many events to the table; the writer would have pushed further the psychological development of the characters.
