i saw it when i was a kid in 1956 i thought it was awesome years latter i saw a couple of other versions i wont say but one was better finally 50 years i found it in dvd and i was so dissapointed that the best scene i remembered was cut off and is when princess pulqueria dances for the barbarians the princess dancer was ludmilla tscherina five stars for the dance

i saw the movie 40 years ago i dont remember too much of it i just bought the movie on dvd but it came without subtitles and i dont speak german any way i will enjoy it cause i was a fun of Hudson and Peppard i wish they would put the victors in dvd

it is one of my favourite antiwar films with hardly any heavy batlle scenes it shows the missery of the consecuences of war bring along it is a tribute to the universal soldier and the legacy of love that his sacrifice leaves to his loved one the closeups of his mother are so painful and so brave may GOD spear us another war like this

Even though she never sang the opera in stage this is probably after Aida the best performance of her career so beautiful so perfect Karajan must have felt so proud of her I still have it in vinyl also in cd I have enjoyoed the wonderful rendition for more than fifty years the superb cast and the Vienna philarmonic under Karajan make it a precious document one of the best recordings ever made thankyou miss price for such a glory

it was well documented like documentary end so very absorbing i enjoy the whole thing i will watch it again i have always been fascinated with turkey and iam planning to go to estambul next summer a dream of many years i enjoy the film hope it will be in dvd in the future
