I wish I could respond to the person who said the show was terrible, and then went onto admit that they skipped through a bunch of it so that could be the reason it sucked....then proceeded to comment a ton of spoilers to express why they did not like it. What? umm yeah dude, you probably missed some seriously vital parts of the plot? Please don't review things without actually watching them, then potentially ruin it for others with your half baked opinion on something you literally did not even watch. Do you go to restaurants and tell people the mashed potatoes were gross but you don't really know because you got the soup, but you saw someone sitting across the room get mashed potatoes, so you just assumed they were terrible? Then continue on to say the soup was incredible but you only had one bite because you were too concerned with the mystery potatoes? "Never going back there again. Those taters made me super uncomfy."
So in my opinion after actually watching half of this season, planning to continue to the end is that the show is pretty flippin' cool. I am actually irritated Netflix is canceling it. It takes a lot for me to sit down and get invested into something on TV.. I am a mother of a young teen, I work part time and am a full time student in a bachelors program. At the end of the day I want to watch something that sparks interest, is relatively easy to follow but is vibrant, exciting, and worthwhile. This has me hooked. The story is interesting, a bit different than run of the mill plots, but some familiar tropes are featured as they always will be... the acting is pretty damn good, and there is quite a bit of depth to the characters. A lot of suspense and mystery going on. Plenty of magic blended all right along with it, but avoids crossing the line of being "corny" surprisingly well. I recommend giving it a shot. Pairs well with mashed potatoes.
