The writing is trash on its own. Not even taking the source material into account. The time skips back and forth serve no purpose except to force exposition in half the time making the entire show feel like youre being force fed a bland zombie narrative thats trying to tackle bigger themes of the source material. Also its hard to cheer for a protagonist who is the source of all the problems. You could argue that Umbrela is the source of all the problems in the world BUT WE NEVER SEE THE REST OF THE WORLD! In the setting that we are given... Jade is both protagonist and antagonist. Every struggle is created by her own hand with Umbrela just existing in the background twirling their collective mustache...
