Great series that did an excellent job humanizing Hillary Clinton. She handled so many difficult life experiences elegantly and with poise - I gained so much respect for her after this doc.
HOWEVER, the depiction of this story was heavily centered around her as the heroine of the 2016 election while antagonizing Bernie Sanders. That very last bit at the end with AOC, Rashida, and others at election night, for example, depicted her as the reason for the 2018 blue wave - a blatant lie. Please give credit where credit is due.
There was little analysis on her end or by the show to understand why she lost. Yeah, it could've been one of those small things mentioned, but the fact remains that millions voted for a racist, mysogonistic xenophobe over her - that requires a lot more digging specifically into the deep-rooted mistrust Americans have for "status quo" politicians.
On the topic of corruption and trustworthiness, little explanation was given regarding her Goldman Sach's speeches - a point of serious concern and mistrust during her campaign which she could've easily clarified here.
Overall, I came out dissatisfied and am sticking with my original notion that while she while she was not uncaring by any means, her motives were not fully sincere (or at least not as sincere as Bernie's) but neither are most politicians (24 and already cynical af).
Mostly giving this 3 stars for her character flaws although this doc did a beautiful job of depicting who she truly is at her core - her values, personality, and emotions.
