* Story-telling: 4.5/5 Story-retelling: 5/5 The only confusion I have for this movie is the friendship kind of relationship between Mulan and Xianniang. Not enough details to reveal their bonds, to convince me to believe or to be moved by the final choice of Xianniang. According to the director Niki Caro (in her recent Instragram post), they had to cut off the first encounter bit of these two ladies. A bit of shame. Hopefully as an audience, we could see those cut-off bits in DVD. The re-telling of the story is better than the og one i.m.o.. Phenix over Mushu, made great sense. √ The way Liu Yifei portrayed Mulan, made greater sense. √√√√√√ The way she reveals her emotions, either with cautiousness and restrainedness to fearless, is pricelessly on point! * Casting: 5/5 * Costume and make-up: 4/5 * Landscapes/pictures: 5/5
