Its annoying that so may people are giving a 1 star because it "ruins" the 1996 version and the book. Well thats the thing. The NAME OF THE MOVIE SAYS M U S I C A L. if you don't like musicals go watch the old movie?? This 2022 version in NO WAY takes away from the book or original movie. You can still go watch and read those lol. This movie was 10/10. It wrapped everything together and focused a lot more on Ms. Honeys back story (which we never got in the orginial) and honestly the original makes me uncomfortable. I don't like that big old lady chasing kids around and actually being put into the chokey. There wasn't violence in this version and I appreciated it a lot. My whole family loved it and we're rewatcjing it already. This movie isn't for old people lol, its for the kids. Its a way better animation and version than the original! Wayyyy funner and just as meaningful!!! More POC actresses and things that would never have happened in the BORING 1996 version.
