A delightful diversity of styles characterizes this album, which is a joy to hear. The band members, deep in talent and creativity, sound like they're at the top of their game. These excellent musicians are masters of their craft on every tune. There's just no weak spots in their lineup as they treat the listener to a variety of themes from Representing the Mambo to The Ingenue to Rad Gumbo. Sophisticated lyrics can be heard in some tunes, and sax phenom Michael Brecker joins them on at least one tune, showcasing his talent along with the band's taste in accompanists. After listening to this for more than thirty years, a smile crosses my face whenever I play it.

Superb musicians, tastefully done. The songs of Jobim speak for themselves.
