About as scary as hollowing out a pumpkin for Halloween, and significantly less enjoyable.
Awful - generic, predictable, and forced. The script is appalling, dialogue trite and characters profoundly unlikeable. Every scene plays out with painful predictability - the nasty person is nasty, the "hero" is "heroic" (or what the director think is heroic - in this case, boring and weirdly perfect at everything). To say the characters are one dimensional would be completementary. Also the gay representation is profoundly reductive: any gay character is gay and... that's it, that's their arc. They start gay, they finish gay or gay and dead.
The end of the third film is painfully obvious even from the first minute of the first film.
Cinematography is laughably bad, first year film school students could be proud of this, but for something produced by a company with almost infinite budget this is depressing.
Don't waste your time, I don't know if the positive reviews have never seen a good horror film or just watched a different movie with a similar title.
