There are a lot of good opinions here interesting analysis. I come at it this way this show really did not do as much as it should. Number one Rouch took on too much and I don't think she called in the big boys. She could have had in my opinion some help from some of her Big bang theory cast stars to come and guest star or better yet I would have called on Jim Parsons to be the da and have a character that took on Dan Fielding as a DA or had Dan Fielding as a prosecutor and had him Jim Parsons is a defense attorney. It would have been interesting to see how those two go at each other. That would have been funny the original Dan Fielding versus a Sheldon type kind of attorney that would have been awesomely funny I think she should have brought in Bill Prady and had a little bit better help with the writing and not had her husband do it. They would have done a whole lot better if she had done that and it would have been as if you're moving to a new generation because a lot of the old actors really are gone. I think she should have reached out and tried to get Richard Moll to let bygones be bygones unfortunately now he's dead. We haven't yet seen how Roz (Marsha Warfield) is going to be that has yet to be determined but I don't think she's put all the weapons that she needed to put. She would have done an excellent job if she had had some help but for her to do this on her own I don't think it's going to work. I wish her well the new night Court just doesn't have the feeling that I wish it had. It feels more like elementary School that it did the original the original was much more provocative this feels like elementary School literally it's just not funny it's not it doesn't push the envelope it's almost like we went backwards not forwards it just doesn't feel what it should feel and I think it's because Rouch tried to take on more than she should. Rouch has a good heart and she deserves to be successful she's a very funny person but I don't think that it translates the way it should. John Larroquette is helping her the best he knows how but again he's going to retire at some point and if you wanted this show to last 9 years the way the original did you're going to have to plan a transition and you're going to have to find the people that he can transition to because he's the last of the great night court actors left and I think having his guidance was good and I think he should have had more to work with.
