One of the most important movies ever to come out of Hollywood . Laughton creates a fairy tale of horror,with direction and sets built as though seen through the eyes of children.Totally misunderstood by the studio birdbrains,it was never publicized properly and written off as being too arty.The term 'ahead of its time'is often overused but not in this case.It is a film that will not age,but linger in the mind.
