Upon purchasing madden 22 and getting the real experience for myself, my one star review has not changed. EA pushed out yet another god awful game in comparison to the NFL and there are so many reasons why. quarterbacks throw slower depending on how close defensive lineman are to them. offensive lineman will either shut down who they block or completely ignore them entirely. receivers still cannot catch a pass in a one on one regardless of height, catch rating or arm length. Defensive lineman are completely useless at rushing the passer unless you are actively controlling one of them. Linebackers are still unable to guard a single route in hook curls (middle of the field zones), making it necessary to control one of them ALL GAME to prevent easy quick slants over the middle of the field. defensive backs do not read and react to the play in zone coverage, and just sit where their zone takes them, and they do not adapt at all in man coverage. An opponent can run 7 slants in a row and the defensive back will never react better to it any of the seven times. And that's only the problem with POSITION GROUPS, there is so much more wrong with the game I could write a book on it. And get this, the engine that madden is developed on is one specifically designed for first person shooter games, not games where physics exist and the majority of players are controlled by CPU's that don't have their own free will. Here's to hoping EA loses the rights to NFL football games forever once their license is up, and here's to 2K hopefully making good games and actually listening to their community's wants and needs instead of figuring the best way to line their own pockets.
