I loved the movie, the setting and the women are great actresses. As others have mentioned, it's a sad story. The only downside was how fast their romance took off; they started touching hands the second time they met. The writers could have been more realistic. Also, the end where Abigail was reminiscing about the countless times they made love, while Tallie was lying there dead and cold, was kind of troubling. But it's important to acknowledge that its based on 1800 and to expect it to have a happy ending is ridiculous if not unrealistic. I'm sure presently, there are many lesbian dramas being made daily and will have happy ending because it's 2021. But lets agree, it's damn near impossible to have had a happy ending in that era.

The only good thing about this movie is probably because you know the actresses. The sex scene especially was very disturbing and it's clear, it was either written or directed by a man. They would have made it a little more descent and realistic, romantic not just lustful. It paints an awful picture. Generally, there's nothing new about this, both the plot and the ending was predictable.
