Civil War misses the mark by a long shot. The reasons behind the war are fuzzy, as if it doesn't center the whole movie around it, and half the characters are pointless. Those that do matter don't grow much, and their motivations are paper-thin. I knew little to nothing about war photographers and it seems the movie also did not know much about them.
The movie also ignores common sense questions the audience will inevitably, like why the President would just chill in their office during a civil war among many pointless scenes. The music tries to amp up the tension, but it can't save this storyline at all. If someone gives it more than two stars, they're kidding themselves. I am actually baffled at the higher ratings...
