This is a muddled retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac. The movie is, at times, unsure of what it wants to be. A musical, a story of war, a tale of villainy, a love poem. The climactic balcony scene of the original story comes just over halfway thru the film and it unravels from there. Everyone in this movie loses, especially the audience. It is a pity, because the cast was making a good effort.
