Is the movie excellent? No. Is the movie terrible? In my opinion no. If you like Joaquin Phoenix then go see it. If you are a world history buff don't expect to have your socks blown off. That being said, some of the scenes and cinematography are very beautiful and action-packed. When dealing with historical figures it's important to get the character right.
