Never again! I took my two 5 year old grandsons on Sunday to the lunch time performance. The story line was dreadful and smutty innuendos which were totally inappropriate. The Dame was also dressed inappropriately and what on earth where the producers thinking dressing him in a black thong leotard to perform a Cher routine, for goodness sake it’s a kid’s pantomime not a drag queen show. Also Captain Hook stepped into a crocodile mouth just before the interval and disappeared. Then in the second half he reappeared but was now good and actually Inspector Pioret . What self indulgent claptrap. Also the mermaid played by one of the pop group Steps also had her ego massaged by the producers.
Needless to say the children in the audience were totally forgotten. No following the story,no walking the plank , no humour or slapstick for children to enjoy. A complete waste of money, inappropriate and huge disappointment . What on earth is going on, children deserve to be entertained with innocent humour and slapstick and believe me watching children laugh is a wonderful experience for parents and grandparents.
