There was a time when I really used to enjoy watching NASCAR races. I just don’t get a thrill out of it anymore. The reason being is the camera work by the fox crew. They spent so much time zoomed in on the cars it takes all the scale out of the out of the race and that makes it appear that cars are going about 45 maybe 50 miles an hour. And the camera angles or from the corners where you are is looking into the face of the cars coming at you down the straightaway and zoomed in on them all the time in the night they’re coming at you then they go by it looks like they’re going slow and then you’re looking at them going down the straightaway away from you and it still looks like they’re going slow. It wouldn’t hurt you to take a lesson from the old ABC wide world sports. At every NASCAR race they had one camera shooting from there the tower or the top of the stands in the spotter area watching the cars go down the backstreet the entire length of the back street and they weren’t zoomed in. It really gave you a sense of the scale of the place and you could tell those cars were going to hundred miles an hour down at back straight. At places like Talledega it was breathtaking to see how large that track was and to see the scale against the mountains in the background would you guys hardly ever show now. At Daytona and Charlotte it was look at those guys are really flying down the back straight. Even the in car camera doesn’t really do it justice to the actual speed it does guys are driving. Now I’m just really bored me to death to watch it because of the camera angles of your director is calling in every race.
