This is a brilliant movie, but depressing as hell. This couple, Tom + Gerri, are totally in sync and soon their loving son gets a perfect mate and they too will live a long happy life together. Meanwhile, they’re surrounded by miserable people who don’t have any satisfaction in their lives at all. Not even a little morsel. It was tragic to watch + I even wondered if this perfect couple surrounded themselves with losers, just so they could feel good about themselves, somewhat smug in their happiness even though they are charitable and generous with their unhappy friends. The movie starts out with a miserably depressed and closed off woman who is Gerri’s patient. We never find out what happens to her, but based on the movie’s Calvinistic approach, I expect her situation didn’t get better.

This was a perfect movie from beginning to end. They were ghostlike but not ghosts. In a limbo world. Anyone who has lost a loved one can relate to the desire to be with those they have lost and the loss of a child is the worst. At first I thought Charlie was becoming invisible because his life, particularly his job, was meaningless and unfulfilling. Someone who had studied philosophy and literature was stuck in insurance. But that wasn’t it at all. Instead his grief had plunged him into another dimension. I think we all enter this dimension when we dream. The acting was effortless + cinematography excellent. Especially, the jelly fish tank. The movie leaves much food for thought. Just as the coffee tastes better in the real world, so too despite the pain caused in real life it has something deeper to offer than the tranquilized limbo repeating itself over and over.

This movie didn’t make any sense. Ennui personified. Acting was excellent + they definitely conveyed what it’s like to have a dead end job and float through life. It held me to the end, but I’m still disappointed nothing happened.

Such a great show + heartbreaking that they pulled the plug leaving us in outer space (literally) to figure out what happens next. Everyone in this show is terrific starting with Wyatt Cynac. The characters are off beat and likeable and something about it reminds me of The Office. Wish they had more than 2 Seasons and they didn’t leave us hanging.

It was mesmerizing + again Adam Sandler proves what a great serious actor he is. But I didn’t get the ending, which bothers me.

It started off great. Plenty of local color, interesting characters. But it got out of hand, spiraling into infinite webs and more and more violence. It had every Irish stereotype on the planet.

This was a great show but they made a fatal error. If you’re going to criticize the TV suits make it a FICTITIOUS network! They’re on Hulu + they made Hulu the bad guy in the story. A dumb move that cost a funny original show with likable characters its life.

Brilliant show and they did it in just five episodes. Interesting character study of people randomly brought together in one situation. Reminded me of the other brilliant English TV Show, The Jury.

I just watched the first episode. Terrific! Funny and moving. If you want to find out what it means to be a human, this is the show for you.

What scares me about this movie is that former President Obama produced it + in the movie G.H. refers to someone very powerful, high up in defense who knew this cyber war was coming. Is that because Obama knows something? The movie is very prescient + with us now dropping bombs in 2 proxy wars, kind of scary. The acting was good. I’m not sure about the symbolism of “Friends.” I don’t like movies that end up in the air + unfortunately this one does, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But it’s very engaging from beginning to end. I’m on the side of the deer.
