A movie lovers movie for sure. So well done on every level. The intermittent use of color in an otherwise dreary black and white world. A sad but realistic commentary on our treatment of mental illness and those affected with it. And it’s a bit of a stretch but we get to n see how people with disabilities are treated as a whole. The people that society tries to forget about. And When we are forced to acknowledge them we mistreat and abuse them. Through the incredible acting of Phoenix, I was able to truely see the world through their disturbed man’s eyes and I did empathize with him. Like a really good book, this movie changed me. Even the sound track was incredible
