So far this series is a shame on the original ESG books, radio show and television series of Perry Mason.
For one this show is less like a courtroom procedural drama and much more like a investigative drama. Perry Mason is a criminal lawyer not a private eye.
ESG specifically states in many interviews that Perry Mason should NEVER have any kind of love interest. Really a shame. You all should've just used the same story, actors and everything and just marketed under a different name.
But you gotta walk all over another's legacy to churn out the same old stories seen in every wanna be noir film.
I guess there was a reason why ESG prided himself more on the Court of the Last Resort over Perry Mason, knowing what Hollywood did with the first movies. Not surprised it happened again, and worse than before.
I have high expectations that future episodes turn this serious around. I get that y'all worked hard to make it look nice and captivating for an audience that doesn't even know who Perry Mason was.
