Blakuma X

The creators of the show definitely had some idea of the source material. I say source because the details of location, city and the people were all great. While the castings are definitely better than whatever we got from the previous movie that shall not be named, the characters we got were hardly the characters we came to love in the show. It became very apparent that most of the cast didn't study their character as deeply as they should have whether it was due to time constraint, personal reason, etc. I dont want to discredit the efforts that went into recreating the show but without writing a 100 page thesis on why the live action felt disappointing despite my low expectation really boils down to how key characters were portrayed incorrectly especially facial expressions (or lack thereof) and speech delivery (tone and manner). The compression of story was expected and I did not have much gripe with this as others may have had but it is still something to consider. Its not terrible, but its not great if you know the source material. If you're new to the franchise it can be nice and fun.
