Once in awhile a book grabs deep down into your soul and tugs at your heart in ways that you can't describe. This book was that book for me. It is the story of my family in so many ways. Emergency Physician Spouse, stay at home parent, 5 birth sons; one who comes out as transgender. Although my daughter didn't come out until she was grown, so much of this book spoke to me in a way that only another parent of a transgender child can. My child is also one of the lucky ones who is loved and accepted by her entire family, even her 80+ year old grandmother. My wish would be that all transgender peoole would feel this love.
