Maybe I’m just not picky when it comes to books, but I was slightly shocked when I saw how low the ratings are! I will say, it is slow at parts, but some books just aren’t meant to be fast paced. It’s a very interesting concept as a book, reading about The killer judge was fascinating. I will say, Lacey as a character, felt like a place holder. Not having read the whistler, I don’t feel any attachment to the character in the beginning, and never seemed to ever become attached to the character. The relationship between Allie and Lacey also seemed like a place holder and unimportant. The marriage at the end, made no since to their relationship.
