The NY Times has an excellent review of this movie. I’ve been a fan of Mark Rylance since seeing Angels and Insects at Sundance in 1996. He doesn't disappoint and the unexpected suspense completely captures one’s attention. Much more interesting than the recent Death on the Nile where the villains couldn't be portrayed by more likable and innocuous actors in a story that could use some modernization.

Though Butler is surely a good choice to impersonate Elvis, the movie is choppy and frenzied, with far too few enjoyable moments, depressing overall. Tom Hanks is in his worst role ever, his narration as a sickly old Col Parker is disgusting. What’s with the hip hop music? I think this movie will soon be forgotten.
