You have to take into consideration the era of the time. Actors tended to overact & the characters were very stereotypical. In spite of this Elizabeth Taylor’s performance was superb!

I loved this book. Found it a bit tricky to really understand Isla’s personality as at times she was direct & other times frivolous. Miles is an intriguing character & someone I would like to meet in real life! At times the descriptive text was a bit flowery & too detailed. This book should be made into a movie!🎬
