The first time I had seen the premise for this sci-fi drama was actually a sci-fi short film on YouTube a few years ago. This movie does a good job of developing the background story, though it is fed to us in bits and pieces. The visual effects are top-notch. Scenery and settings are surreal and do an excellent job of creating a sense of isolation that is necessary for story development. There are subplots within the main story but they do not detract from the storytelling. I think they are appropriate to the main theme. Acting is stellar. And even though I was expecting a twist at the end, it still struck an emotional chord. Well done!
