As a hardcore Beetlejuice fan, I truly think that this movie lived up to it's predecessor. It was funny and enjoyable, and employed the same weird, freaky atmosphere as the original. It's amazing how they got Micheal Keaton to become beetlejuice again, because nobody else could ever have brought that character to life the way he has. The movie held countless references to the first movie AND the stage production. I wouldn't even call it comedy horror, the Beetlejuice universe is a genre of its own.
Many people would criticise the movie's plotline, and how it's not "rounded enough", but those people are also forgetting that they are watching BEETLEJUICE of all movies - it isn't supposed to have a nice, clean story! By watching a movie, you can easily tell how much the director cared about it, and Tim Burton cared deeply for Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
Before deciding that the haters are right, take a watch - because it doesn't matter whether you like it or not, it's definitely an unforgettable experience.
