This is a low key but nonetheless forceful anatomy of not only alleged sexual abuse by the mogul but a dystopian office/ corporate in which a assistant is totally ignored by her colleagues as she pursues her day to day role; she is alone and alienated; there simply is a withdrawal of social care for “ an outsider” ; everyone is complicit in covering up the abuse. Wonderful seeing such another stellar performance from Julia Garner ( Ozark ); director and screenwriter kitty green has written a minimalist style screenplay and Garner delivers her performance through feelings and body language in this dark world of the entertainment industry corridors of power and subordination. For those expecting fast paced action and sex you’ll be disappointed. This is a European style art movie and so very powerful and relevant in a world of #metoo.
