This book is not only difficult to follow but completely fanciful in the telling. The characters are well defined and even somewhat relatable. But the transitions from past to present are hard to follow and I found myself going back and forth between pages to try to figure out what was going on. Characters come and go, not always well identified or even necessary. Ruth one heart appears and is someone’s great great Aunt. And then disappears literally and figuratively? She had a role to play in the present day story but not sure why her disappearance was necessary. The book’s conclusion is just a chaotic miss in my opinion. Some of the final revelations were already revealed, some never explained. All in all I do not recommend this book.
