I already wrote a non spoiler review about the game itself but I want to talk about Batman now.
Batman’s role in the Story…. Spoiler!!!!
Batman’s ending is not well done at all. I thought people were being way too harsh about things but when I experienced it, it was something… Near the start of the game you see what Batman has become. It’s unsettling but at the same time cool seeing someone who never kills straight up murder people because he is turned and now infected. There are audio clips of Batman saying it’s a bad idea going to Brainiac’s ship and that it’s a trap. Everyone agrees but Superman and Green Lantern. Eventually they go and for some reason Batman is infected and some aren’t. It doesn’t make sense. The world’s greatest detective who’s supposed to be ready for anything shouldn’t have been infected or at the start of the game at least. At one point you go into a vault owned by Batman to pickup a certain item that will help take on a justice league member. Turns out there are other things in that vault that are able to stop the other members as well. The fact is that Batman had this stuff incase the justice league ever turned their backs on earth, so he would be prepared if the time ever occurred to take them on. It should’ve been Batman instead of Wonder Woman who wasn’t infected because you could’ve had him play a different role in helping the squad, fighting alongside you, or whatever it may be and eventually lead to a perfect ending for him.
Boss Fight and the end of Batman
The Batman boss section was alright. Going through his cave with the bat statues watching you and some breaking for a bat like demon to attack you, that is if you aren’t quick enough to shoot it. After all that stuff the boss fight was shoot him and dodge things on a platform. After the fight you actually don’t kill him and take him back with you! For the player you think there is hope that you won’t kill the character you loved and played as over the years but nope. Eventually Harley wants to get Supermans attention so she takes Batman to a park, has a non-emotional talk and puts a bullet in his head. Superman comes down, you fight him and the story continues. Basically Batman got the same amount of time Green Lantern had after his defeat with a little dialogue and a quick ending. Which doesn’t really make you feel anything when the character is killed off and that’s it. You think there’s more to it but no that’s the end of Batman….
