I didn't really like the first movie either but I thought I'd give it a shot and it was way worse. All the relationships are toxic, (spoilers) Elle seems like she doesn't like being in a relationship with Noah at all and is hypocritical the entire movie. She's upset that Noah might've cheated on her yet she goes on literal dates with Marco. She literally does something that would warrant Noah to break up with her and yet he forgives her immediately. She's horrible to Marco, even though he is clearly much better for her in every way. Lee also literally cuts her out and ignores her because she might not go to the same college as him. In both movies, the relationships are toxic, and especially in this movie all of the girls are made to seem like bad guys while all of the guys are made to seem like sweethearts who can't do anything wrong. They also just throw in a gay couple out of nowhere with secondary characters we know nothing about which is clearly them just trying to get brownie points for adding a gay couple in the movie. They are only on screen for about 5 minutes in total. Honestly, I would've liked to see the entire movie about them than about Elle and her toxic and manipulative relationships.
