I have watched star wars since I was a little boy popping in a new hope or return of the jedi every day in CRT tv after school. I have tried time and time again to show up for the star wars franchise. I have done so for Ashoka the Mandalorian book of boba Fett and andor. I can genuinely say that 5 episodes into this show I am disappointed. The story makes little sense and breaks lore established for years now. The writers seem lazy and the actors even doing their best cannot make up for bad storytelling. It is clear that these writers have had little to no interest in star wars and it shows in the way they have broken cannon lore about the force and creation of life, the Sith behavior and the rule of two, and the actions of the jedi. I feel for those of diverse communities and I wish they could be represented properly, however the acolyte has shoe horned in DEI for no reason other than to have it there. By forcing these themes unnaturally and breaking the lore to allow for things such as lesbian force created children does a disservice to the community they are trying to include in star wars. If you take a look at shows like fallout, the last of us and Percy Jackson, you can see characters diverse in race, gender, sexuality, and ethnicity, but these attributes are not forced unnaturally and the characters that have these diverse qualities are well written and natural. I am saddened by the quality of this show and I hope disney takes the peoples feedback and does better the next time around.
