I enjoy films. All kinds of films. I saw Poor Things a few months ago and was incredibly impressed and entertained. So I had high hopes for Kinds of Kindness but am just left without words. The only thing I can equate it to is old Twilight Zone episodes--short stories that leave you scratching your head. The actors in this film were fantastic, but the movie itself was constructed as three short stories that were seemingly disconnected and unrelated in any way other than the same actors as different characters. Each one was darker and stranger than the last. After nearly 3 hours I was left perplexed and unsatisfied, knowing I'll never get that time back. I guess it's the chance you take.
