So Im going to mention the LACK of the elephant in the room. Paul's character Brian or the lack there of. At this point it makes absolutely no sense for "the family" to be experiencing these life threatening moments without his presence - or at least a credible excuse for the lack of his presence. This is made even worse by Mia's presence and involvement -- "Ok Brian, Even though I've never really done much but work the counter at our store, and you're a highly trained agent, I'm going to run out join the crew on a mission, go to family BBQ's, etc... while you stay home with our kid" - whom btw everyone seems to have forgotten. Instead they move on without even so much as a mention of him other than a couple of brief references. Yes, I get it - Paul has died - and that is HORRIBLE, but I almost feel its being more disrespectful to his character he played so well by leaving him in limbo than figuring out some resolution. At this point, Im more like - "Damn, O'Conner is a Buster - letting his best friend/brother in law, wife, sister in law, oldest friend, Miami friend, nephew, and WIFE practically get killed while he's out doing - like what IS he supposed to be doing? Dropping off Jack at the upper elementary?" I went to this movie hoping for some closure for his lack of presence in the series , but honestly this film just made it worse - with MORE talk of family than in any of the previous films, how could they leave out or just ignore the missing of one of its biggests parts?
