This goes to the gut-punch issue of domestic violence. There doesn't have to be physical contact our a gut -punch to define domestic abuse. This brings to the forefront implied and verbal control of a parent and their children. It is intertwined with generational influence on both the victims and perpetrators of this kind of abuse. The children learn quickly to smile and be flexible. They worry about their mommy and /or daddy. But I digress. This series graphically portrays monetary and food insecurity...and how quickly and unannounced it creeps in. It also shows the complex role of generational influences of grandparents. It brings into sharp focus how a fragile little family becomes a portrait in verbal/and /or implied and /or physical abuse and disrespect to a parent desperate to protect vulnerable children. Everyone should see this.

This is definitely a fast-track romantic series that brings in multiple dramatic turns with each episode. Sometimes it seems a little "soapy", but it is so engrossing, I find myself helplessly tuning in for the next episode. It is reminiscent of fiction series I have re-read multiple times. It's definitely a winner with a background of gorgeous scenery and many subplots that keep me coming back for more.
