I guess my biggest question is were people REALLY that stupid back then? I know the answer is a resounding YES...but I am wondering if the black counselor was ever prosecuted? As she was the direct reason for a lifetime of failure and tragedy for this little girl. She stated to the Judge "in her professional opinion"?? She had no professionalism! NONE! The movie was well acted and SHOULD have opened the public's EYES to how detrimental our social service system IS, then and NOW!! Every single day we read about children who were not as lucky as Regina Louise! They are tortured and then murdered and in EVERY case there were "multiple visits by social services"?? Social workers are college educated, certified and OVER PAID for the horrible job they do!! I have dealt with families and issues with those families for over 25 years and each and every time the social service dept gets involved it is a HUGE WASTE of TIME and in many cases like the Regina Louise Story they are MORE harmful than if they had never been involved. Great Movie!
