The first few episodes were great, but I found the show started to drag by about the 3rd episode in. It was the same formula each time: Peter does something disgusting (cuckolds his best friends, kills someone wantonly, disrespects Catherine, says something offensive). Catherine has dull conversations with Mariel, Orlo, Leo and Velementov about overthrow. The court behaves badly. Rinse, repeat. All the elements were in place for a terrific show (solid performances, some witty lines, great costumes) but the narrative just did not move forward at a fast enough clip. Part of the problem is that the script isn't as good as it thinks it is. I never really cared whether Catherine overthrew Peter because all the dialogue was so light and vacuous.

An absolute cracker of a show: Very entertaining sci-fi premise, and a great ensemble effort by the international cast. I watched all six episodes in one day.
